May be bringing some friends along :D
Right now I'm going to try to win tickets for them because I'm not sure they'll spend 30 pounds for a band they don't know.
Plan B is to get them hooked on BNL in a month ;)

Thanks! :D Meanwhile I'm working on plan B.
This is prolly the wrong thread but I'm too lazy to start a new one, so hopefully enough people will see this to voice an opinion:
If you were trying to introduce BNL to someone in preparation for a concert would you introduce them to Steve songs as well? IMO Steve sings some of the most beautiful songs the band has written (What A Good Boy, Call and Answer, Break Your Heart...) but those songs are not likely to be played live again soon if ever and even if they will it will not be the same. Would you bother with it at all? Save it for a later point in the BNL 101 class? Share all the best songs even if they're no longer relevant?

Would be happy to hear your opinion
Jells
(PS Is Barenaked.net not working just for me?)

Do you have the freebie Orlando show they released right after steve left? Also, Jeff has been nicely offering a few of the US shows for D/L on his Facebook page. That might be an idea.

Hmm that's an interesting question Jells. I think Becca's suggestions are good, let your friends hear what BNL sound like now. Disc One might also be a good option because a lot of those songs are still going to be played, even if Steve isn't singing them any more.

Becca,

We're planning on getting there about 5:00, but only because we have limited time in Scotland and were hoping to also do some tourist-y things that day. I've heard some people are going to be there much earlier. See you soon!

I was also going to be there around 5. I don't know what the crowds in Glasgow are like but I'm hoping the line won't be too long by that time. I once went to a concert in Texas where I showed up 2 hours before the show and was the only one there for like 2 hours. Then again, the whole venue was kind of empty for most of the show anyway... (it was in 2000 so I dont know why)

Here's a question for more local folk, is 5 too late if I want to make sure I'm up front?
Since I'm traveling with a friend who may not come to the show I don't want to abandon her for too many hours...

I guess it's hard to tell what the queues will be like, but I have read on Twitter that some people in London will be there from mid-day. Now THAT is early! I think we will be early at each show, but not that early.

I went to see Guster once in London, and arrived at the venue before the band themselves...

The earliest I have queued in Glasgow is about 5.45 pm. And I always manage to get pretty close to front without an issue. We are thinking of being there prob 5:30, but def only 5pm at earliest, we are on sort of a holiday after all... ;) But before that i can't speak for the other half but I may be found drinking a cocktail or 2 in TGI Fridays... ;) No more than that though as I want to enjoy the gig :) Really looking forward to seeing everyone there!

I think if *most* of us are planning to be there at 5, and a fellow bnluk.netter shows up, we'd all be more than willing to let you squeeze in with us!

BTW, the cat ears WILL be making an appearance. As will my BNL GRL PA License Plate!
