What does everyone think to Page One then?

I absolutely love the album, so much so that I wrote a review of it here:

What does everyone else think?

I've just downloaded the album - and what a great album it is!

"Land hoooooooooo"!

Haven't got time to put a lot of thoughts down so....it's an eclectic mix of goodness!

Id have to largely agree with your review Liam...

The best track off of the album HAS to be 'If You Love Me' .. If this is not the second single I will be very shocked!

I really like it and can already knock out a half-decent version of Indecision on my acoustic - my pitching of those 'oo-woo-hoos' is a bit hit and miss though!

I *heart* it so so so so so SO much! :D It makes me so happy. Not just to hear his voice again, but the sound of it, too. It speaks directly to my '80s soul. *thumbs up*

If You Love Me and Leave Her Alone make me  every time they start. A New Shore is also amazing...

Land Ho-oooooooooooooh!

I did that, and a friend of mine came up with a PERFECT title for it, too: All in One!

It's a loooong "album," though. 10 Steve songs, 9 BNL songs. LOL! Hey, you can fit 19 tracks on a CD... that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. ;)

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would, haven't stopped listening to it this week!

My favourites would have to be entourage (not something I'd expect to like, but it works) and a new shore (though I find the lyrics telling, reminiscent of the recent Steven Page interview that caused such controversy).

I'm really enjoying the album! Much more upbeat than I might have expected from that interview that was recently posted! :D

Are there any ELO fans on this board? If so, have you noticed a similarity between Over Joy and ELO's Julie Don't Live Here?
It's the deep drums (which might be timpani), and the jangly guitar riff at around 0:35 in Over Joy (and repeated through the song).

You can listen to Julie Don't Live Here here:

But I absolutely love the album, "Leave Her Alone" is amazing, I think Steven's at his best when he really milks his voice for all it's worth and swing is the perfect way to acheive this about.
Everything else though... pfft. it's all great.

Does no one else think "If You Love Me" is rather heavily inspired by "1999" by Prince? When I listen to 1999 i get if you love me stiuck in my head and when i listen to if you love me i end up getting 1999 stuck in my head

Now you mention it, I notice a slight similarity.
Not like Phil Collins' "Sussudio" which is so inspired by 1999 it might as well be the same song!

The mark of a great album is how you listen to it.

If you put an album on and skip a track or two, then its a good album. If you only listen to your "favourite tracks" then its a decent album. If you only listen to the hits then it never was an album and you should have kept to downloading the singles.

So far I've put on Page One and started at the beginning and never touched the skip buttons....
